Below is the final top 25 projections based on the numbers, stats, and more on the Hourglass. These rankings are of course subject to change as it is still early in the year. The team that we believe will finish as kings of college football is the Texas Longhorns.
Bellow is our rankings of the 2025 BIG 12 QBs based on their performances last year and other stats all combined to give us their QB metric. The King of not only ACC QBs, but all QBs in college football is Clemson’s Superstar QB Cade Klubnik with a QB metric of 33.6. Cade Klubnik’s QB metric is 6.4 points higher than the QB who is 2nd in the nation and 19.19 points higher than the average QB metric.

Leading the pack in 2025 is Baylor’s Sawyer Robertson at 24.2. Robertson is followed closely by Iowa State’s Rocco Becht at 22.5 and Texas Tech’s Behren Morton at 22.3.
The Big 12 had a great 2024 season and will be expecting way more in 2025. The 2024 season brought about a competitive playoff spot for the Big 12, specifically Arizona State, in the first 12-team playoffs. It will be tough for the Big 12 to repeat or exceed the 2024 season.
The 2024 season for the ACC was a very good year. They had two representatives in the first 12 team playoff bracket, a Heisman finalist, and a highly competitive conference title race. As good as 2024 was, 2025 will be an incredible season for the ACC.

The 2024 season was HUGE for the Big 10. In the first ever 12 team playoff, the Big 10’s very own Ohio State emerged victorious, winning the National Championship. It will be tough for the Big 10 to have a better season than 2024, but 2025 is still going to be another great season.
The 2024 season was a very interesting year for the SEC. It was the first season for the SEC newcomers Texas and Oklahoma. It was also the first year where the conference did not have split divisions, which made for some very competitive football.
The Arizona State Sun Devils are coming off one of their best seasons ever where they won the Big 12 and received a first round bye in the College Football Playoffs. Head Coach Kenny Dillingham expects to achieve more as he heads into his 3rd season at Arizona State. He will have plenty of success because he has one the hottest young offenses in college football.
Brent Venables and his Oklahoma Sooners will be looking to improve on their lackluster first season in the SEC. They seemingly looked doomed when their QB transferred, but the Sooners did not miss a beat and picked an even better QB out of the portal. John Mateer transferred to Oklahoma after throwing 3,139 yards and 29 TDs and rushing for 826 yards and 15 more TDs with Washington State.
Chris Klieman and his Wildcats are looking terrific heading into the 2025 football season. During their great 9-4 2024 season, the emergence of star QB Avery Johnson catapulted Kansas State into playoff contention for 2025. Last season, Avery Johnson threw for 2,712 yards and 25 TDs while rushing for 605 yards and 7 more TDs.
Head Coach Brent Key and his Yellow Jackets had a great season in 2024, and they look even better heading into 2025. Georgia Tech was able to retain 16 starters from last season, and the most exciting of them all is QB Haynes King. In 2024, King threw for 2,114 yards and 14 TDs, but that is not the exciting part because he rushed for 587 yards and 11 more TDs.
For the 2025 college football season, win totals are a popular futures betting market, allowing fans to wager on whether a team will exceed (Over) or fall short (Under) of a projected number of regular-season wins, typically based on a 12-game schedule.
Head Coach Matt Rhule and the Nebraska Cornhuskers have had a very rough go of it for the past few years, but they now have a glimmer of hope as they have a young QB who looks solid. The Cornhuskers started freshman Dylan Raiola, and not only does he look like Patrick Mahomes, he also kind of plays like him.
The Florida Gators had a very rocky season in 2024, and Head Coach Billy Napier seemingly struggled to make decisions especially with who to start at QB. Napier did eventually make a final decision, and boy was it a good one. The Gators started freshman QB DJ Lagway, and they were able to go on a great run at the end of the season.
The 2025 NFL Draft was this past weekend, and this one did not disappoint. There were lives changed, teams rejuvenated, and even some historic draft slides. 257 men had their lives changed, and while some might not have gone as high as they believed they should have, these men can forever say that they were drafted in the NFL. Below is a review of each team's 1st round draft pick.
Head Coach Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers biggest trouble last season was having to flip flop between QBs trying to find their guy. The Tigers hit the portal and landed a great starting QB with Jackson Arnold from Oklahoma. Arnold with the Sooners threw for 1,421 yards and 12 TDs while rushing for another 444 yards and 3 TDs.
The reigning SEC champs have been rolling for what seems like forever, and don’t look for that to slow down. Head coach Kirby Smart and the Dawgs hit the portal hard, and got some ballers. For starters, Georgia got a shiny new WR in Zachariah Branch out of USC along with others for both sides of the ball.
Head Coach Jeff Traylor and his Roadrunners are geared up for a phenomenal 2025 season. They will have returning QB Owen McCown who threw for 3,424 yards and 25 TDs in 2024. UTSA will also have returning young RB Brandon High, Jr who rushed for 495 yards and 8 TDs.
New Head Coach Charles Huff and his Golden Eagles will be looking for massive improvements in 2025 as 2024 was a terrible year for Southern Miss Football. They thankfully were able to get a great QB to transfer from Marshall in Braylon Braxton. Braxton in 2024 threw for 1,624 yards and 19 TDs while adding 610 rushing yards and 4 TDs.
