What’s to like:
Head Coach Brent Key and his Yellow Jackets had a great season in 2024, and they look even better heading into 2025. Georgia Tech was able to retain 16 starters from last season, and the most exciting of them all is QB Haynes King. In 2024, King threw for 2,114 yards and 14 TDs, but that is not the exciting part because he rushed for 587 yards and 11 more TDs.
The Yellow Jackets were also able to keep King’s favorite weapons. WR Malik Rutherford will be returning after a season where he had 702 receiving yards and 3 TDs. Also returning is RB Jamal Haynes who put up 944 yards and 9 TDs on the ground while also adding 3 more receiving TDs on top of that.
What’s not to like:
While Georgia Tech being able to retain a lot of talent is great, the Yellow Jackets will still have a very tough season. Georgia Tech will have to compete against some of the best teams in the nation, specifically they will be trying to catch Miami and Clemson who both are geared up for dominant seasons.
Right now, we have Georgia Tech finishing at #3 in the ACC, with Miami and Clemson fighting for the conference title. The Yellow Jackets could make a run for the title if some things fall their way, but it will be a longshot. Nevertheless, Georgia Tech will have a great season, and will be able to build upon that greatly.

From Head Coach Brent Key, to the 16 returning starters, the culture there in Atlanta is changing. Nobody should sleep on the Yellow Jackets this year because they look ready to rattle the entire ACC in 2025.
