What’s to like:
The reigning SEC champs have been rolling for what seems like forever, and don’t look for that to slow down. Head coach Kirby Smart and the Dawgs hit the portal hard, and got some ballers. For starters, Georgia got a shiny new WR in Zachariah Branch out of USC along with others for both sides of the ball.
The Bulldogs also have a dawg freshman RB returning this season with Nate Frazier. Frazier led the team in rushing yards with 671 yards, and he tacked on 8 TDs as well. Nate Frazier was splitting reps with Trevor Etienne in 2024, but now that Frazier is Georgia’s bell cow, expect big numbers from the young RB.
What’s not to like:
The big issue for Georgia heading into the 2025 season is how much talent they have lost. The Bulldogs will be without star QB Carson Beck, who has transferred to Miami. They will need to find a guy they can trust, whether it is Gunner Stockton or another potential QB, if they want that offense to have another efficient year.
Georgia also lost other key players from both offense and defense. The Bulldogs star RB Trevor Eitenne has declared for the NFL draft along with star LB Smael Mondon and DB Malaki Starks. There will be massive holes on that team, but nothing that Kirby Smart can’t fix.

Final thoughts:
Georgia will be Georgia. They will win a lot of games. They will compete for the SEC championship, and they will probably make the playoffs. The QB situation seems like a bigger deal than it is, but Kirby Smart will get it figured out. That defense will be as nasty as ever, and the offense will be as high powered as they always are. Don’t expect for the party in Athens to stop any time soon.
