What’s to like:
Chris Klieman and his Wildcats are looking terrific heading into the 2025 football season. During their great 9-4 2024 season, the emergence of star QB Avery Johnson catapulted Kansas State into playoff contention for 2025. Last season, Avery Johnson threw for 2,712 yards and 25 TDs while rushing for 605 yards and 7 more TDs.
Along with their star QB, Kansas State has a great RB and WR to complement Johnson’s game. Running back, Dylan Edwards, was the backup last season, but he still rushed for 546 yards and 5 TDs. Wide receiver Jayce Brown, led the Wildcats in receiving yards last season with 823 yards and 5 TDs. The Wildcats offense will be electric for the 2025 season.
What’s not to like:
The biggest things that will be against Kansas State in 2025 is how competitive the BIG 12 will be and how weak their schedule will be. The BIG 12 continues to improve year after year, and with teams like Arizona State and Colorado joining, it only has gotten tougher. The biggest obstacle for Kansas State in 2025 will be Texas Tech.
Texas Tech seemingly has done everything right and they are becoming one of the best teams in the BIG 12. We have Texas Tech predicted to win the conference, beating Kansas State for the title. With the conference championship loss, and a very weak schedule, Kansas State, most likely, will not receive a playoff spot from the committee.

They have a great coach with Chris Klieman, Avery Johnson has been proving himself to be a star, and there are plenty of other stars all across the team. If the Wildcats can fight through a tough BIG 12, they could get the chance to compete for a Natty.
