What’s to like:
Jeff Brohm has continued to build one of the ACC's more consistent offensive programs. His system has consistently produced productive offenses, and Louisville has done a good job identifying transfer portal additions who fit what the coaching staff wants to accomplish. That ability to quickly integrate new players has helped the Cardinals remain competitive despite offseason roster turnover.
Louisville also enters the season with one of the conference's more complete rosters. The Cardinals have enough talent on both sides of the ball to compete with most teams in the ACC, and their success in the transfer portal has added valuable experience throughout the lineup. That balance gives Louisville another opportunity to compete near the top of the conference.
What’s not to like:
The biggest question is whether the defense can become more consistent throughout the season. While Louisville has shown flashes on that side of the ball, maintaining that level of play from week to week has been more difficult. Improving defensively will be important against some of the ACC's better offenses.
The Cardinals also need to prove they can win the biggest games on their schedule. Louisville has put itself in position to compete for conference championships in recent years, but consistently finishing those opportunities remains the next step for the program.

Final Thoughts:
Jeff Brohm has Louisville in a position to compete with the better teams in the ACC once again. The Cardinals have enough talent on both sides of the ball to remain in the conference race, but defensive consistency and success in marquee matchups will be important this season. Louisville has the pieces to put together another strong year if those questions are answered.
