What’s to like:
Stanford continues to focus on developing its young talent as the program works toward becoming more competitive. While many of those players are still gaining experience, the coaching staff has an opportunity to build around a younger core that should continue improving over the next few seasons. That development will be important as Stanford continues adjusting to the ACC.
There is also a long-term foundation beginning to take shape within the program. Stanford has remained committed to building through player development, and while results may not come immediately, the Cardinal have started establishing a clearer direction than they had in previous years.
What’s not to like:
The biggest challenge remains the overall talent gap compared to many teams in the ACC. Stanford continues to recruit well academically, but matching the overall athleticism and depth of the conference's top programs remains difficult. That difference is often noticeable against stronger opponents.
Depth is another concern throughout the roster, particularly over the course of a long season. The Cardinal also need to become more physical at the line of scrimmage if they hope to consistently compete against the ACC's better teams. Until those areas improve, Stanford will likely continue facing an uphill battle.

Final Thoughts:
Stanford is still in the process of rebuilding, but the program continues investing in young talent and long-term development. The Cardinal have shown progress in several areas, though improving depth and becoming more physical remain priorities. Continued development throughout the roster will be the biggest indicator of success this season.
