What’s to like:

Dabo Swinney has built one of the most consistent programs in college football, and Clemson enters another season expecting to compete for an ACC championship. Recruiting continues to be one of the program's biggest strengths, allowing the Tigers to replace departing players with talented young prospects every year. That level of continuity has kept Clemson near the top of the conference for more than a decade.

Quarterback Christopher Vizzina also gives the offense plenty of optimism entering the season. He has the talent to lead Clemson's offense, and another offseason in the program should help him become more comfortable as the starter. If he develops quickly, Clemson should once again have one of the conference's more balanced teams.

What’s not to like:

Replacing experienced players in the secondary won't be easy. Clemson has consistently produced NFL talent on defense, but new starters will need time to settle into larger roles. Communication and experience in the defensive backfield often become more important against quality passing offenses.

The offensive line is another position group to watch. Clemson has the talent up front, but the unit has lacked consistency at times. Better protection and a more reliable running game will be important if the Tigers want to compete for another College Football Playoff appearance.

Replacing experienced players on defense while improving the offensive line will be key as Clemson looks to return to the College Football Playoff.
