What’s to like:
Texas A&M enters the season with one of the biggest advantages, an experienced quarterback. Marcel Reed returns after a strong 2025 season and gives the Aggies stability at the most important position. His ability to make plays with his arm and his legs makes him one of the more dangerous quarterbacks in the conference, and another year of development could make him even more effective.
Head coach Mike Elko also did a good job at keeping much of the roster together while adding talent through the transfer portal. Instead of having to replace a large portion of the tam, the Aggies return plenty of experience on both sides of the ball. That continuity should allow Texas A&M to build on last season.
What’s not to like:
The only downside on offense is the departure of offensive coordinator Collin Klein. Holmon Wiggins takes over play calling duties, and while he brings plenty of experience as a coach, leading a SEC offense is a new challenge. It may take some time before the offense is fully settled.
There is also concerns along the offensive line after losing several starters. Texas A&M added players through the transfer portal, but building chemistry up front does not happen overnight. The Aggies will need that group to come together quickly if they want the offense to reach its full potential.

Final Thoughts:
Texas A&M in a strong position entering 2026. With the return of an experienced quarterback and a roster that returns much of its core. The Aggies have the talent to compete with anyone on their schedule, but the offense will need to adjust to a new coordinator while rebuilding along the offensive line. If those pieces come together, Texas A&M should be one of the toughest teams to beat.
